Ode to HJ

Ode to HJ
- by Leo Chiu

Oh HJ, oh HJ, how awesome your name,
That in your small time in the Hollywood game,
I find my hands clapping in raucous applause,
When you play a hero with hands made of claws.

Oh HJ, oh HJ, you are rom-com gold,
Like your haunting role in Kate and Leopold.
That in every scene with you courting Meg Ryan,
You left me in awe and so, so close to cryin'.

And in the Prestige, next to Christian Bale,
I found you enchanting, while he was quite stale.
He may be the Batman, to some the Dark Knight,
But he was your Robin, with nary a fight.

And of all these movies, all excellent shows,
Just one scene has led me to author this prose,
The moment in X-Men, as dark Wolverine,
When you threw your clawhands into Badguy's spleen.

So here's to you HJ, my Hollywood friend,
Take care of yourself, and best wishes I send.
Your chilling performances tingle my spine,
I heart you, celebrity Valentine.
